Wanted to introduce myself and say my goodbyes at the same time! Not sure if we have ever met directly, but I have of course seen you around the studio and at some of the events Be has held. I have been taking classes at Be Yoga for over 2 years now. I have never written something like this before and wasn’t sure if I should, but I felt compelled to let you know that Be Yoga has changed my life and I hope this amazing studio never changes!!
I started taking yoga in college in 2006 and fell in love with it immediately. I always enjoyed my classes but never really connected with yoga like I felt some people did. That is until I came to Be. After my first class, I knew this was a different yoga than I had been practicing the past couple of years. The focus was on the mind, just as much, if not more, than the physical practice, and it quickly changed everything for me. Also, to be surrounded by so many amazing people; teachers and students, it helped deepen my practice as never before.
I have taken many different yoga classes over the years, but I have never felt as safe and supported as I have at Be Yoga. I honestly have not have a bad class in two years! Your teachers are some of the most amazing, loving people I have ever had the pleasure of being around.
Ashley Voyer – what an amazing, kind person. Her classes are fun and oh so challenging. I think all my arm muscles are because of her! She does a great job of explaining different aspects of yoga philosophy and relating it to every day.
Laura Hannon – one of the nicest and happiest people I have ever been around. Her deep stretch classes are bliss – as are her hands-on assists!
Chrys Kub – have taken her classes for the longest and always wanted to keep coming back. I always felt relaxed yet challenged in her classes. She does a great job of making poses accessible to everyone, no matter where you are in your practice.
Allison O’Connor – who I did not discover until a few months ago, but immediately felt like I have know her for a lot longer. She is very welcoming and also teaches an awesome class!
Not only the teachers but all the staff working there have been so kind and friendly. And even though there have been times where I did not come as often or at all, I always knew I could come back and be greeted like no time had passed.
I know I will miss this studio more than I even realize at the moment, but I am excited to start the next chapter in my life. I am moving to Prague, Czech Republic tomorrow to teach English. Living in Europe is something I have always wanted to experience so I decided about a year ago to stop wishing it would happen and go do it. I can honestly say all my time at Be made this decision easier for me – I knew it’s scary and hard to try something new (like a lot of the yoga poses you encounter), but what is scarier is not trying it and never knowing what you can do. I know I will have my practice to come back to, wherever my travels take me, and I will always be thankful for the foundation and confidence Be Yoga has given me.
Thanks again for providing such an amazing space!
