You will be guided in several daily all levels asana practices that are designed to both strengthen and rejuvenate your mental, emotional and physical bodies. The retreat center sits on top of a majestic mountain with 381 lush acres all around. Retreat participants can enjoy both easy and challenging trails and an onsite labyrinth. Prepare to soak in spectacular views with abundant fall colors.

This was my first retreat ever! and my goal coming into the weekend was to take some time away from work, to be brave and do something on my own, get in some yoga practice and enjoy the mountains. But oh …it was so much more. It was a rebalancing of heart, head and spirit. The feeling of community love and energy was life affirming. It was a sort of out-of-your-control roller coaster of feelings and reactions that my heart and head experienced. I am still processing. I feel lighter, I feel less anxious, I feel valid.

Wendy has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and leading groups for the past 15 years. This is her fourth retreat at the Art of Living Center and she is thrilled to return to such a beautiful healing environment. She is a licensed acupuncturist, registered yoga instructor, and healer. Her classes are rejuvenating, open hearted, fun and soul inspiring. One of her students, Andee Smith, says it best: ” As a teacher, one of Wendy’s many gifts is perception. Her ability to read the energy of a room full of yoga students and then serve as a thoughtful guide through a yoga practice is remarkable. Her insightful, supportive, and just plain fun demeanor sets the tone to help students dive deeper into their own practices.”

 

Wendy—thank you so much for your passion and compassion in leading the experience.   You exuded love and helped me crawl back into yoga.  I bought the 10 class new student pass and want to come every day that I am home in Dilworth.  (I travel often).  I loved the community and exercise.

Kaitlin is an E-RYT 200 yoga teacher, who has been offering classes in Charlotte, NC since 2008. She’s also an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Coach, Reiki Master, and Intuitive Healer. Kaitlin loves to lead groups and individuals into their potential through topics such as yoga philosophy, subtle body anatomy, energy work, wellness, habit change, and ayurveda. Her passion is connecting the dots between all these to support a holistic experience of yoga.

Grace is a 200 hour RYT in Tantra and is currently working towards her certification from the ShaktiRasa school, which is part of the Para Yoga lineage. Students should expect classes that are intelligently sequenced with a focus on the union of breath with the asana. Grace loves to teach challenging poses, intertwined with humor and ancient teachings, as an opportunity for personal growth and self-inquiry. The path to yoga started as a way for Grace to be challenged physically, but quickly evolved into a spiritual practice, which then became a way of life. Grace’s interests lie in uniting the worlds of brain science and all forms of yoga science. She has published cognitive research on nutrition and brain development, and has completed a pilot study that investigated the differences in the electrical activity in the brains of experienced yoga practitioners versus novices (results coming soon). Grace is excited for the opportunity to teach and share her passions, story, and contagious joy!

Katie and Josh are a husband and wife sound healing duo. They partner with many Be Yoga instructors to bring the healing vibes of sound through to yoga practitioners. They play a wide variety of instruments including the didgeridoo, native drum and flute, quartz and Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, chimes and many more. They specialize in creating unique sound journeys to lull participants into a deep state of relaxation.
