When and how did you start practicing yoga?

I began practicing yoga asana in my college gym. I really enjoyed it, but it wasn’t until a few years later, after a tragedy in my life, that I began to delve into the spiritual path of yoga.

How has it helped you grow as a person?

Yoga has helped me gain a deeper sense of Self and steadiness. I’ve been able to remain centered and grounded through the unfolding of life’s events more easily than I could before my practice began. It has truly impacted every aspect of my life.

What should students expect from your class?

My intention with my classes is to challenge students while creatively sequencing a class that is accessible and helps to quiet their minds. I hope each student walks off of their mat more connected to their own Self energy, the present moment, and to the earth, having created more space in their mind and body with mindful breath.

Be Yoga has a number of class styles. Which is your favorite, and why?

I love any class that challenges me on all levels, that is balanced, and that I can move, flow, and breathe deeply on my mat.

What do you like to do when you’re not doing Yoga?

I am always practicing yoga! When I am not doing asana, I love being outside in the water, in the mountains, in the grass, etc. I LOVE animals, especially my cat, Reesee. If I’m inside, you can find me with either chocolate, a paintbrush, or a book in hand.
