When and how did you start practicing yoga?

I took my first “official” yoga class in college and soon realized that I had been playing around with yoga for most of my childhood-I just didn’t have a name for it.

How has yoga helped you grow as a person?

Yoga allowed me to slow down and taught me to focus. It allowed me to find my happiness, my voice, my passion, and taught me to remain steady through anything that I may face. It allowed me to take the time to nourish one of my most important relationships and that was with myself.

What should students expect from your class?

Students should expect a class where they are challenged physically or mentally depending on what they decide to bring to their mat that day. I love creative flows that allow for the student to stay connected with their practice. I want my students to walk away feeling grateful for the time they spend on their mat.

What do you like to do when you’re not doing Yoga?

I am always practicing yoga; it encompasses everything that I do. I practice every day through my thoughts, relationships, actions, speech and food. I would even consider enjoying red wine and homemade food in the company of loved ones to be part of my yoga practice. Oh & I can’t forget my love for live music!

This was such a great yoga class. The teacher (Erica) was awesome and always had modifications when needed. She was easy going and great to workout with.
