When and how did you start practicing yoga? An aquatic center opened in my small town in the spring of 1998 which offered yoga classes. I was doing a lot of running at the time & had heard that yoga was helpful for runners. I immediately loved the cozy vibe of the class and the way I felt as I left… I was hooked.

How has it helped you grow as a person? It has helped me feel at home in my body and given me the opportunity to meet and practice alongside some pretty incredible people as well as cultivate amazing friendships.

What should students expect from your class? A challenging, upbeat alignment based class with plenty of variations for varying degrees of stretchiness & strength which I hope leaves them feeling a little brighter and a little more in touch with their own inner luminosity.

Be Yoga has a number of class styles. Which is your favorite, and why? Primarily Align & Flow because I love how for me, the alignment allows for a deeper experience and more freedom in my body, though some days I feel like a hot sweaty flow, a deep yin or a relaxing restorative. I am interested in the value of what every method offers.

What element of yoga philosophy fascinates you the most? The practice of seeking the balance between right effort and surrender, everything boils down to this.

What do you like to do when you’re not doing Yoga? I love reading, travel and hanging with my awesome family!
